I just finished this one, so sit down and grab a drink. This will be a long one sighs in preparation.

First of all, gosh damn!! This was my first-ever witch book, and what an incredible introduction to the world of witches. The story started as one of the coziest books I’ve read in a long time, but by the middle, I was an emotional mess — angry, sad, and everything in between! Now that I’ve finished, I’m left with bittersweet emotions. I want to re-read it already. It was that good!

🧙‍♀️ Maggie: A Perfect Lead

Maggie is an amazing woman — gentle, smart, and warm. Her aura made me smile, and I was so excited to follow her journey. There was nothing about her that I disliked. She was the perfect lead for this story, and her time in the new town was heartwarming to witness.

💔 Basil: A Complex, Intriguing Character

Now Basil… yeah, I have a lot to say about him. I rooted for him hard when he was first introduced — maybe because I could relate to his distaste for everything. But what he did to the town and its people made me instantly hate him. He’s such a complex character, and I couldn’t help but be intrigued by his arc.

However, his redemption arc was one of the best parts of the entire book. By the end, I was proud of the person he became. I might not love him, but I respect how he tried to fix his mistakes and help the townspeople. His complexity added so much depth to the story.

🎃 A Perfect Blend of Cozy & Emotional

This book was a perfect mixture of cozy and emotional. The sad parts made me tear up, while the harvest festival scenes and Maggie’s friendships brought a smile to my face. The small-town vibes, combined with magic and mystery, made for an unforgettable read.

📖 Final Thoughts

This was my first read from Azalea Forrest, but it definitely won’t be my last! I’m already adding her other works to my TBR list. If you love witch books that make you feel cozy and warm while giving you an emotional rollercoaster, I highly recommend this one!
