3 Indie Books I Want to Read/ Am Reading This Month❤️ - April/May 2025

I’ve been in a bit of a slow reading phase lately (life, anxiety, and all the usual suspects), but I still wanted to show some love to the indie authors on my TBR this month. Whether I’m halfway through or just a few pages in, these three books are ones I’m excited to finish—and hopefully review soon on the blog!

1. Pieces of my Heart: A dark poetry collection by Despoina Kemeridou

The author is a great friend of mine on Twitter, so I downloaded this on Kindle last month and am so excited! I don't read much poetry, but this seems like something I will love. I love writing romantic poems (my links if you want to read some of mine :) ), so I am excited to get to this one!

I haven't started reading yet, so not much to say. But I am excited!

2.  Dark: A Paranormal Shifter Romance (Blood Moon, Texas Shifters #1)  by Kat Kinney

I’m already 45% into this one, and it’s exactly what I hoped for - moody, beautiful descriptions, and the tension between the MCs is amazing! I started this a few months back for a book club, but couldn't finish because of life issues. But I am back, and I am excited to see it through this time :)

Kat is once again a great friend of mine, which makes it even more exciting to read something of hers. I love paranormal romance, but it's hard to find any good ones out there. But the fact that this one is indie makes it even more amazing. Definitely planning to finish it this week ❤️

3.  Reflections of Lilje Damselfly by Natalie Kelda (ARC Copy!)

I love Natalie's books! I reviewed River in the Galaxy last year, which the review you can read here :)

I am excited that I was able to get this ARC. I read so slowly, so I was hesitant to apply. But Natalie gave me reassurance, and I am glad I decided to apply. The story is different from anything I usually read, but that is exactly why I love Natalie's books!

I love the mental health representation in her books, and this one already has some which I love. I am only 15% through, but excited to finish it soon. The review will be here once I do, so make sure to subscribe so you can read it :)

I am excited for all of these and can't wait to get back into the swing of reading and support more indie authors ❤️
