Half Way Home – A Poem About Healing, Hope, and Love

The title is the prompt I found on Pinterest! It has been a while since I posted a poem, anyway, so here is a new one :) I am almost there Reaching for my dream Don’t let me sink, darling I am almost halfway home I don’t want to scare you Keep you smiling like this I look at you, heart fluttering Fear crippling in just after it Too good to be true I don’t want to lose sight of it Never claimed to be perfect I am still too broken to live But with newfound hope Every day, I keep running I still stumble, breathless Reaching for you desperately I wish you would be still here I hurt you, hard to ignore it But little by little I hope to be what you need Home is where you are Where our dreams meet Happiness is so close now Here beside you, I exist As true as I can be I only hope you can see it We are halfway home Let’s just keep going If this poem touched your heart, feel free to share it or leave a comment below. I'd love to hear what it made you feel. If you enjoyed this, you might also...

Writing While Healing - Indie Author Interview: Gregory Owen

No Way Home - A Flash Fiction Set in a City Where Vampires Rule

I wrote this a while back while exploring genres other than romance, which I usually write. It turned out decent. Decided to publish it :) Darkness surrounded the entire city as the girl continued walking home. Occasionally, a slight breeze would pass by her, scaring the hell out of her.  Years ago, her parents said their city was beautiful. The nightlife was incredible, and parties happened each day. Couples roamed around the place, and restaurants were always packed with families.  But everything changed when the bloodthirsty creatures came to their city.  Things went from best to worst in what felt like minutes. Their beautiful city became home to hundreds of dead bodies. Many people became the snack for those red-eyed monsters that night.  Humans assumed maybe they would leave once they got what they wanted. But the vampires had other plans. They fell in love with the city and never left.  Now, almost a decade later, their city was like a graveyard. Humans b...

MM Romance Reads of the Week: Books I Loved & Recommend

This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting Bookish Musings! I’ve been in a bit of a romance mood lately—and this week, that meant diving into some MM romances that totally swept me off my feet. It’s one of my comfort genres, and I discovered some amazing new authors this week (and month)! From sweet slow burns to steamy page-turners, each book had something unique that kept me hooked. If you’re on the hunt for your next queer romance read, maybe one of these will hit the spot. Let’s get into it! ๐Ÿ“š 1. Pucked Up by Frankie Abraham Final Rating: 4.5 out of 5 I don’t have any notes. This was amazing. It made me think a lot, and even inspired me to return to a WIP I’ve been working on for years. The characters weren’t perfect, but they were so very real it ached at times. Micah struggles a lot. So does Noah. But Noah also heals him in some ways. I’m not usually a dark romance gi...

Here to Stay – A Poem About Unwavering Love

I wrote this a few nights ago, hurting until my love offered me comfort. I hope this poem does the same for you, readers :) I wait for the regret For the sadness to come Wait till I feel like leaving Yet it never happens No matter the reason The consequences I love you the same Every second is precious You won't understand Even if I try to explain it The way my heart burns Each time your eyes meet mine Loving you was never simple Yet the best thing I've done No matter how much I try Walking away isn't an option Darling, can you see me? See the love I keep hidden Words escape me even now But I've never been surer My love, I am here to stay Even if I can't convince you Eternity won't be enough To explain what you mean to me If this poem touched your heart, feel free to share it or leave a comment below. I'd love to hear what it made you feel. If you enjoyed this, you might also like The Day the World Forgot Me , my micro story about longing and unseen love ๐Ÿงก
