Here to Stay – A Poem About Unwavering Love

I wrote this a few nights ago, hurting until my love offered me comfort. I hope this poem does the same for you, readers :)

I wait for the regret

For the sadness to come

Wait till I feel like leaving

Yet it never happens

No matter the reason

The consequences

I love you the same

Every second is precious

You won't understand

Even if I try to explain it

The way my heart burns

Each time your eyes meet mine

Loving you was never simple

Yet the best thing I've done

No matter how much I try

Walking away isn't an option

Darling, can you see me?

See the love I keep hidden

Words escape me even now

But I've never been surer

My love, I am here to stay

Even if I can't convince you

Eternity won't be enough

To explain what you mean to me
